Closing out the London Olympics was a difficult thing to do as Britain orchestrated a historic year but they added grace to the passing of the torch to Brazil which was accented by an appearance from renowned supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio.

Despite their age when compared to living legends like The Who, Paul McCartney and Queen, One Direction wooed the crowd before them with an energetic performance of "What Makes You Beautiful" that got everyone out of their seats towards the beginning of the ceremony.

As Russell Brand struggled trying to cover The Beatles and an image stripped from Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory, Fatboy Slim saved the day while he spun records inside of a giant inflatable octopus.
7: Lolo Goes Loko
One of the most publicized athletes of the Olympics, Team USA track star Lolo Jones was criticized for how she was marketed throughout the entire Games. Then at the final ceremony, she got her positive moment, happily singing at the top of her lungs as Oasis' "Wonderwall" was performed.
6: My Generation
A warm-up before their upcoming world tour, rock legends The Who showed even at their age, they still fire off a few good tunes as they helped close out the night with guitar solos and Roger Daltrey's notable voice.
5: The Batman & Robin Cameo
Director Christopher Nolan may have purposefully kept Robin out of his Batman series on the big screen, but the duo returned with their retro look to keep the Olympics safe for one more night.

Many celebrities made sure their entrances caught the eyes of everyone in the building and at home, but Lennox's take on the "Pirates Of The Caribbean" was entertaining from start to finish.

Perhaps one of Britain's biggest pop acts to ever grace a stage, the Spice Girls put on a special performance of a few of their chart-topping hits that allowed us to see Sporty, Scary, Baby, Posh and Ginger, back together again.
