14: Julie Bowen
Even into her 40s', Julie Bowen is considered to be a stunning actress in terms of appearance (and talent) but just three days before the season premiere of "Modern Family", she looked rather lost in a confined sea of neon.
13: Connie Britton
The 45-year-old actress looked stunning from the neck up but her choice in an Emmy-worthy gown (and colour) wasn't a perfect match for the red carpet. Like most designers would tell advise: keep it simple.
12: Elisabeth Moss
The budding star of "Mad Men" made sure to rock and compliment her hairdo, but the dark print expels a bland colour whereas a royal blue or deep-toned red could have justified Elisabeth in so many other ways.
11: Leslie Mann
Though director/producer Judd Apatow is her arm candy for life, Leslie's outfit for the evening looked rather protruding as it couldn't decide if it wanted to party or be formal.
10: Ashley Judd
Like the rest of Hollywood, we're not quite sure what Ashley was thinking. When you're at the age of 44, there isn't a lot of looks at your disposal but this - from the hairstyle down to the gown - is most definitely not an option.
9: Lena Dunham
The star and creator of the hit HBO series "Girls" rebeled against the fashion standards of the Emmy's but was it a bit too dark for the spotlight? Critics say yes as the Lena's whole look was a total offset from her standard All-American appearance.
8: Glenn Close
Close has always been able to don an edgier look throughout her career on-screen and off-screen, but this particular dress seems to be a contraption in itself as it doesn't know if it should be gothic or chic.
7: Phoebe Price
She's often D-listed and now Hollywood knows why: Phoebe's dress is trying to capture a vintage moment but it's fantasy/wedding appeal is really nothing but a sheer distraction.
6: Julianna Margulies
On this night, "The Good Wife" went rather ethnic suburbian with this floral print dress. The concept is one to admire but on this stage, is floral considered to be a print that's ideal for the glitz and the glam?
5: Mayim Bialik
The Emmys is Mayim's favourite stage but the breakout actress from "The Big Bang Theory" looked rather uncomfortable in this particular dress that added a bit too much comfort at the heels and couldn't help but blend into the red carpet.
4: Zosia Mamet
On the hit television show "Girls", Zosia's character has a hard time of being normal as she constantly shifts from being casually flirty to being a tomboy and her dress for the evening "totally" represents that.
3: Sarah Paulson
The 36-year-old actress made a stunning appearance with her Emmys hairstyle but the dress that stumbled with an identity crisis (floral or oceanic?) and a rather pale palette did nothing to help the rest of Paulson's attention-grabbing look.
2: Julianne Moore
Because of this semi-fashionable dress, it's rather difficult to say Julianne doesn't look "tart". The Christian Dior gown's lemon hue was more meant for a rising star rather than a sophisticated actress with class.
1: Claire Danes
When it comes to style, comfort really is the kiss of death and this Lanvin dress modeled by Claire Danes didn't do much to create a warm look for the soon-to-be mom. The mustard attack didn't refrain from her grabbing an award though thanks to her performance in "Homeland".
