Sketch This: Awesome Marvel Comics Art

#14 Venom

Remember Venom? Of course you do. That guy from That's '70s Show may have did a terrible job portraying his part on the big screen (thanks Eric Foreman) but we know everyone's favourite comic book bad guy is due for a part that resurrects his persona.

15: The Avengers
While the 2012 film brought on a rage for shwarma and smashing things, it also increased the popularity of fan art for the The Avengers, including this conceptual illustration that feels very life-like.

13: X-Men
Contrary to belief, the X-Men didn't always wear black matching uniforms that looked like they were made of rubber. They had their own styles that screamed with authenticity.
12: Daredevil
Sometimes it's hard to not forget some of the more notable characters in the comics universe but such is the case for Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil. Ben Affleck aside, this image of the New York crime-fighter should definitely find a home in your mind.
11: The Green Goblin
The Osbornes are generally fashionable individuals - clean hair-cuts, tight suits and a passion for success. This version of The Green Goblin seems to think otherwise.
10: The Incredible Hulk
First there was Eric Bana (and his poorly written role), then there was Edward Norton (who did an exceptional job) and finally, Mark Ruffalo (an exact replica). But before all of them, there was this guy (a lean, mean smashing machine).
9: Magneto
What's so great about this piece is simple: it has an old-school comic feel to it. Plus, Magneto isn't shed in a light that's squeaky clean; he's grizzled (look at that facial hair!) and he's really, really angry.
8: Loki
We have to admit, everyone has their own set of villains that they consistently hate and though Loki is one of them to most, this drawing had to be featured due to it's precision that's hard to match.
7: Captain America
This image's intent may have been for a poster to support the theatrical film's release, but it's 100% fan art and to us, it really is 100% awesome.
6: Thor
In several different issues, Thor's appearance changes and so does the design of his hammer but this sketch is probably the scariest drawing out there of the God Of Thunder.
5: The Silver Surfer
One of Marvel's lesser-known characters, the Silver Surfer did his duty to protect the galaxy and though he faced enemies 100 times bigger than him, he always found a way to prevail.
4: Dr. Doom
One of the most popular (and hated) super villains in the Marvel Universe, Dr. Doom is known for his simplicity as a character, but when he means business, he means business.
3: Iron Man
Have you ever seen "explosive" digital art? This illustration of the iron-clad Tony Stark is a perfect example.
2: Spider-man & Mary Jane
One of Marvel's oldest characters, Spider-man has been given a lot of makeovers over the years but none that are as detailed as this piece.
1: Zombie Wolverine
First off, one of our favourite X-Men characters looks like a bat, and secondly, he looks way too freakishly terrifying and we mean WAY.
