You should think of yourself as a spy sent into a foreign country. Try to get all the information that you can. Who is a friend with whom, who hates whom, etc...
9: Don't trash talk your colleagues or bosses...
Talking behind the backs of your colleagues and bosses is the worst thing you can do... Even if they don't hear about that, just by the look of your eyes, they could easily sense that there is something going on...
8: Befriend the ambitious ones...
Try to be a friend with the ambitious and determined people in the company. You don't want to have friends that will drag you down...
7: Be friendly with everyone
You don't have to be best friends with everyone but you also don't want to have enemies. So be friendly, helpful and supportive whenever you can!
6: Make a connection with your boss
You should try to personally connect with your boss. This does not mean telling him dirty jokes, though... It means that you should understand that he is just a normal person, not an office monster...
5: Feedback is a priority!
Getting as much feedback as you can should be your greatest priority during the first weeks. This is the easiest way for you to eliminate any misunderstandings and mistakes as fast as possible...
4: Don't be shy!
You might have a reserve and shy personality, but now it's not the time for you to act like that. If your new colleagues invite you to a party or a drink after work, don't refuse the offer... You will make a bad first impression...
3: Don't be haughty!
You may have some previous work experience in this field but this does not mean that you know everything. If you start acting as if you are the best, people will soon start to hate you...
2: Ask questions!
If you don't understand something, than simply ask someone for help. People will be more than glad to help you. It will be a mistake to spend the whole day stressing about some trivial tasks...
1: Don't be late!
You don't want to make a bad impression from the start, do you? Try coming at least 15 minutes earlier and leave at least 15 minutes later... but no more than that, as you will look like a weirdo...
