The show is set 100 years after the original Star Trek and follows a crew headed up by Captain Jean-Luc Picard (played by Sir Patrick Stewart). In only seven seasons, it won several Emmy Awards, Hugo Awards, and a Peabody Award among other honors.

A star-filled cast helps make this medical drama one of the most impacting shows on television to date. The show is going into it's ninth season, seven of which can be viewed on Netflix.
8: Lost
The ABC drama intrigued the world when it aired in 2004. It began as one of the most well-written stories on television that followed a group of passengers from a plane that had crash-landed on a mysterious island. Over the course of six seasons, the plot took turns and struggled through a writer's strike, contract issues and problems with the cast. The show came to an end in 2010 with one of the most highly anticipated final seasons making it one of the top shows of time.
7: Accidentally On Purpose
This CBS sitcom stars funny girl Jenna Elfman as a movie critic in her 30's living in San Francisco. After a random night with a 20-something (played by Jon Foster), she finds herself in a tough situation as the two become a big part of each others lives. The show ran for a season of 18 well-written episodes.
6: Frasier
One of the most successful sitcoms of all-time, Frasier follows the life of Dr. Frasier Crane, a psychiatrist that moved to his hometown of Seattle after a divorce and gaining a job offer at a popular radio station. Adjusting to his new life is not what it seemed the show is full of irony as the doctor helps resolve the issues of others, but often fails to solve his own without the help of his brother, father and friends. The show had 11 seasons and made Crane (played by Kelsey Grammar) a favorite character on television for over 20 years.
5: Breaking Bad
When a high school chemistry teacher is diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer, he turns to a shady lifestyle to secure his family's future. Staring Bryan Cranston in what some critics are praising as the "role of his life".
4: Rita Rocks
This short-lived series was one of Lifetime's only sitcoms. It starred Nicole Sullivan (best known from her work on MADtv) as a middle class working mom that feels like she's lost her spark in life. When she had a run in with her mail carrier, the two form a bond in her garage over music and soon a garage band. The lovable show was cancelled after only two seasons on Lifetime due to low ratings but after watching it on Netflix, fans have started asking for more.
3: Futurama
This animated comedy series created by Matt Groening (the creator of The Simpsons) focuses on Philip J. Fry, a 25-year-old delivery boy that was frozen on New Years Eve of 1999 and woke up on New Years Day of the year 3000. The show is clever, innovative and laugh-out-loud funny!
2: Mad Men
The New York of the 1960's was different than what we see now. This series takes a look inside that era by following an ad agency though the life of ad man Don Draper and his wife Betty. The AMC Drama has won numerous awards through only five seasons.

If this show taught us anything it's that there's always money in the banana stand. The show only ran for three seasons before being wrapped up in 2006. For six years fans have been hearing rumors of a film and new episodes developing and in 2013, the wait will be over!
