This is a good scene for Liu to disappear into. It'll be harder to find him when folks will be more puzzled by why there is a gigantic human plane figure in the sky on the left.

Liu found the perfect solution to stopping the magazine stand vendor from asking him to actually buy what he spends countless minutes reading. Now he can spend the money he saves to buy more paint.
